This was the 'Alice in Wonderland' set used for the staff photo shoot.
The country cake stall was a great success with many colour cakes and cup cakes being consumed by the children after photos were taken.
Our country lemonade stand also was a great hit with colourful popcorn matching the vintage straws used with the little bottled drinks.
The stall used for selling cookbooks and tea towels.

karaka school

Most of these images feature the cookbook fundraising project I was involved in for Karaka School.

Under the guidance of food styling Jo Wilcox we conducted a couple of school cooking ‘fun days’ to allow students and staff to participate in some baking from the book, as well as creating photo opportunities to be used in the cookbook. Jo came up with the concepts for the food activities for the student photos, and I got to work with her to do the styling of the sets* to be used in the photographs.

The staff photo shoot I decided to do as a Mad Hatter tea party theme and the staff obliged by turning up in the most wonderful costumes.

We worked with Serena Corless of creatography for the two days where she took hundreds of photos so we were able to select the best for the books.*

All the recipes provided by parents and people in the community were professional styled and photographed by Jo Wilcox and Nick Tresidder.

The last two images show the tea towels I designed as a part of the project. And the bottom image is of the school website www.karaka.school.nz which I also designed.

*Due to privacy reasons I can not post photos with the children and staff in the sets.
